Initial Setup

Next? As you are stepping through the App setup, you will have a few decisions to make. All easily changed or reset at a later time!
  1. Decide if you want to recieve notifications. Note that you can adjust these per your phone directions.
  2. We suggest you select at least one school to follow. 
  3. If you are a parent, you will recieve an email iniviting you to join. Didn't get your invite? 
    1. Check your parent portal settings via Genesis. Do you have an email listed? Note if you have multiple emails, only the FIRST one will get an account. 
  4. Not a parent? You are welcome to get our notifications and take a look around. Click on "Skip" in the lower right corner of the app screen. 
That's It! You are IN!!!!

While the app is made by a company called Edlio, please search in the app stores for "BPSNJ  NJ." The only correct app looks like:

Adding / Subscribing to Schools
You are welcome to subscribe to the message from additional schools if you are interested.
 
From within the app, go to the upper LEFT corner and click on the dropdown arrow.
  1. This shows you which schools you are subscribed to. 
  2. To manage your settings, click on "Manage Schools"
  3. You may turn on / off schools that you wish.
  4. NOTE that by subscribing to additional schools, it means that you may set up your notifications options. However, alerts that are specific to your child will only go to the school in which you have a child. 
    1. Example: If you have a child named "John" and he attends the SRD school. You should be subscribed to the SRD school and ideally you have notifications on for SRD. 
    2. If you go ahead and turn on MBD and WTB that is fine. You will not see any messages that are from school staff to students in those schools. You will only see calendar and news items that are specific to those schools. 
Adjusting Notifications
 
You can receive notification alerts on a daily as well as weekly basis. Here is how!
  1. Make sure to start within the school that you wish to adjust notifications.
    1. Example: If you wish to adjust notifications from the district, make sure you start on the district page.
    2. If you wish to get notifications from both the district and one of the schools, repeat the notificaiton setup process from each school's page. 
  2. From the upper right side of the app window, click on the "Hamburger" (3 stacked lines)
  3. Click on your account name at the top of the stack. 
  4. Click on notificaitons
  5. Adjust whether you want District Broadcast notifications (recommended) and if you want them to be daily, or weekly. Note that weekly reminders go out on Sunday evenings. 
  6. Note that the options for notifications are None (X), View in the app only (the eye symbol) an the get an alert on your device as well as view them in the app (the bell icon). 
 

Registered users: Do you need to log in again? Easy!

  • Go to the ‘Hamburger’ stack in the upper right corner & click
  • Locate & click on the gear.
  • Click on Login In
  • Input your username & password
  • Additional icons will appear based on your role.

TEXT / SMS Opt-In: Didn't get the Opt In Text Message? 
 
"Wrong" school?
 
Does the sign up of the app look like it is taking you to the incorrect school? Do not worry about it. Once you are logged into the system, it will sync up wtih your correct information. Just be sure to log into the Bloomingdale main site and it should recognize your settings.
